Bruce Bickford, born in 1947, is known for his collaborative work with Frank Zappa in the 1970s and 1980s, from which films like "The Amazing Mr. Bickford" (1987). By the mid-1960s, Bruce Bickford, with his dolls and kneading animated figures, placed the close connection and metamorphosis of objects and persons in the foreground. The ITFS is showing films from the past 30 years that illustrate why Zappa was so interested in Bickford's way of working: craftsmanship, improvisation and an overbearing fantasy. His latest film, "Attila", is premiering, which also reveals his great talent. The Bickford Kultnacht takes place in co-operation with the StadthausUlm, which shows the first big solo exhibition with models, drawings and dolls by Bruce Bickford. The exhibition "Mr. Bickford discovers a new country" runs until 18 June 2017.
